Watauga Medical Center initially earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Disease Specific Care Certification for Chest Pain in 2018. Since, they’ve undergone a rigorous re-certification process in 2020 and again in 2022 to maintain their Chest Pain certification status.
“Re-certification ensures our program meets clinical performance standards, follows current evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, and provides opportunities to enhance and improve our services. Certification participation supports us in our commitment and pledge to providing quality services within our local community,” says Ashley Campbell, Accreditation and Regulation Coordinator.
The chest pain program not only focuses on quality care but also on community outreach and education. “Guided by the belief that knowledge is power when it comes to better health, I am passionate about and dedicated to educating our community about the warning signs and symptoms of heart disease,” says Krista Osborne, Chest Pain Coordinator. “Each day is a gift and what we do for ourselves, and our body, allows us to live life to the fullest.”
