Dr. Anne-Corrine Beaver Recognized for Outstanding Leadership in Cancer Care

UNC Health Appalachian is proud to announce that Anne-Corrine Beaver, MD, FACS, has been recognized with the Commission on Cancer (CoC) Cancer Liaison Program Award for Outstanding Performance.

The award recognizes Cancer Liaison Physicians (CLPs) who demonstrate exceptional leadership as physician quality leaders within their cancer programs. CLPs play an important role in helping cancer programs evaluate performance, identify opportunities for improvement and advance the quality of care provided to patients and their communities.

Dr. Beaver’s recognition reflects her commitment to quality cancer care and her leadership in supporting the ongoing work of UNC Health Appalachian’s cancer program. As a CLP, she works with the cancer committee to evaluate program performance, use data to identify opportunities for improvement and help ensure the program meets the standards established by the Commission on Cancer.

CLPs also serve as important connections between cancer programs and organizations such as the American College of Surgeons and the American Cancer Society, helping bring valuable resources, information and best practices to their communities.

At the heart of Dr. Beaver’s approach is a commitment to using data and collaboration to continually improve care.

According to Dr. Beaver, “Cancer Liaison Physicians (CLPs) are champions for patients. We use our role to evaluate strengths of our program as well as areas of improvement. We are able to use data-driven metrics to inspire our team to achieve the highest level of care possible for our communities. We are passionate about quality, compassion, and vision. It is a privilege for CLPs to serve in this role.”
