Foundation Board

The Appalachian Healthcare Foundation Board is comprised of fifteen (15) individuals, thirteen (13) of whom shall be appointed by the Board of Trustees of UNC Health Appalachian. At least one (1) of the appointed Directors shall be a physician. At least one (1) of the appointed Directors shall be a Trustee of  Appalachian. Directors other than the initial Directors shall be appointed by the Board of Trustees of Appalachian. The Board of Directors shall have and exercise full power and authority to do all things deemed necessary and expedient in the governance, management, and control of the business and affairs of the Foundation, including, but not limited to, establishing policies to guide the operation of the Foundation and for the overall strategies of the healthcare system of which it is a member. The Foundation Board plays a central and vital leadership role in strategically and financially positioning UNC Health Appalachian for success. They do so by articulating the Foundation’s mission and guiding it in meeting the goals that are grounded in that mission.
