Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine
UNC Health Appalachian is a medical home for your whole family, infant to adult. To accomplish that goal, we offer pediatrics in Boone and Linville at many of our practices and Watauga Medical Center.
Family medicine providers deal with a wide range of medical issues for all ages in a true family practice setting. Establish a relationship with a family medicine provider by scheduling an annual routine check-up, which is covered by most health insurance plans.
Watauga Pediatric Hospitalists care for infants, children, and adolescents while they are in the hospital. These providers are there shortly after a mother gives birth to care for the newborn, as well as treating children or adolescents who find themselves in the hospital for various reasons. The MAHEC Rural Family Medicine Residency program also works with Watauga Pediatric Hospitalists.
